Building a daily mental fitness routine as a family

There are so many great times during the day to incorporate a little mental fitness practise, offering benefits that can be seen and felt in the moment (while building healthy habits for the future). Try doing a mental fitness session with a child in your life...

  • In the morning, to enhance focus and calm

  • On the go, to make travel a mindful and enjoyable experience

  • After the school day, to unwind and relax

  • At meal times, to create a calm dinner table environment

  • Before bed, to fall asleep—and stay asleep

  • During weekends, to foster family connection and boost everyone's mood

Every session is designed to help kids establish new habits and foster positive mental wellbeing and resilience.

Finding sessions for kids

Once you're in the Smiling Mind App, it's easy to see what content has been designed for kids—it's colour-coded in yellow! You can also add a filter to automatically show kids content on the home page and when using the explore bar. Simply avigate to your app settings and select show content for 'Kids'. Speaking of the explore bar, this feature can help you to easily find content based on any needs or concerns present in the moment. Try typing in a word like 'worry', 'calm' or 'sleep' to see relevant sessions.

Content created by psychologists, with kids’ needs in mind

Help us advocate for our kids

Smiling Mind have been adovcating for more adequate focus and funding to address the growing crisis in our kids' mental health and wellbeing. The Our Kids Count campaign calls for a dedicated Minister for Children to be appointed who can prioritise the needs and rights of children at a national level—giving a voice to our youngest generations when they aren't able to use their own. Every petition signature matters as we campaign for a healthy future for our kids.
