Smiling Mind is a not-for-profit organisation that works to make mindfulness meditation accessible to all.
Our vision is to see mindfulness meditation on the Australian National Curriculum by 2020.
Our mission is to provide accessible, life-long tools based in mindfulness meditation.
The Smiling Mind App has reached more than 1.5 million people worldwide.
More than 18,000 educators use our programs in schools.
- That’s at least one million students experiencing the benefit of our programs every day (based on 60 students per educator).
- We’ve also provided additional intensive professional development to up-skill more than 4,000 teachers so that they can bring mindfulness into their classrooms.
Our Workplace Programs are currently being used by more than 200 organisations.
- More than 18,000 employees have started to learn how to use mindfulness meditation to improve their wellbeing and effectiveness at work.
- Our Programs significantly reduce stress, with 68% of participants reporting that they feel a greater sense of calm since using the Smiling Mind app.
Why are we smiling?
Smiling Mind exists to help build individual mental health and wellbeing through positive, pre-emptive tools based on mindfulness meditation. Co-developed with psychologists and health professionals Smiling Mind is accessible to everyone, irrespective of geographic location or socio-economic status.

As a not-for-profit, achieving our vision relies on donations, fundraising, philanthropic grants, sponsorships, community volunteers and partnerships.
Smiling Mind’s volunteer Community Ambassadors help us achieve our goals. From all over the country, our volunteers have put their hand up to help.
The Community Ambassador Program is designed for change makers who are passionate about mindfulness.
Our Community Ambassadors focus on raising community awareness of Smiling Mind and spread the message of mindfulness meditation and its benefits to the wider community. They also contribute to our fundraising activities, and continue to develop their own existing mindfulness meditation practice.
