Ambassador - Bianca Chatfield

Bianca Chatfield Australian Netballer and Captain of the Melbourne Vixens

Taking time to be mindful is one of the best techniques I have used to help cope with the pressures of playing elite sport. By taking time out to be aware of everything around me, mindfulness meditation has helped me to understand my thoughts and refocus my energy on what’s most important at a given time – the here and now. For any budding or elite athlete, I can’t recommend Smiling Mind more highly. My success has come from staying physically fit and mentally strong.

Bianca Chatfield is a champion Australian netballer who has represented the country in the 2014 Commonwealth Games (winning gold!), the 2007 Netball World Championships and countless premierships with the Melbourne Vixens – her home club.

Bianca’s love for all sports started at a young age when growing up in Somerville, on the Mornington Peninsula. Bianca was blessed with height (189cm to be exact) and loved playing team games with friends, so netball was the perfect fit.

Bianca channels her passion into sharing her positive experiences with others, whether it is through netball coaching, media, speaking engagements, running leadership workshops and mentoring sessions.

Smiling Mind is thrilled to have Bianca as an ambassador for positive mental health and as a fabulous role model to young and aspiring athletes. Bianca understands the importance of living a balanced and healthy life (both physically and mentally) and we are grateful that she is helping us spread this message.
